As
you can see the Syed Alatus Mansion is beautiful inside and out. The Achehnese
from Northern Borneo formed a community centered around the Acheen Street
Mosque. Then in the 1870's the Dutch attacked Acheh province in Sumatra,
and Syed Alatus smuggled arms to the resistance there.
