Most of the snakes
at the temple are Wagler's Pit Vipers. They are nocturnal, and fairly slow
during the daytime. A few defanged specimens are available for photos around
visitor's necks in a side room. Out back is a walled garden with vipers
lounging in the trees. Because the area around the temple is developed
now, the snakes no longer come on their own.
