The Orang Asli are
the "original people" of Malaysia. They are nomadic and build temporary
shelters in the jungle. They are classified by some anthropologists as
Negritos or pygmies because of their short stature. This family group is
staying near Kuala Tahan. They are quite friendly and somehow smile through
nightly visits by groups of tourists. They hunt tree dwelling mammals with
blowguns and poison-tipped darts.
