This is the view of Georgetown, the capital, as you come over from the mainland on the Butterworth Ferry. The Komtar Tower Komplex dominates the skyline. This modern face of Georgetown exists in the midst of hundreds of buildings that survive from the 19th century. We visited Penang in September and October, 2000.
