Rock Creek Area

This could be a red Sierra onion or subalpine onion (Allium obtusum var. conspicuum) or the rare Yosemite onion (Allium yosemitense). It doesn't look exactly like the Swamp Onion (Allium validum) that is common here. Compared to the Swamp Onion, this one was much shorter (8-10") and each plant had only 2 strap leaves. It grew in the shade, was light pink and the anthers were shorter than the petals.
